Next Wave is a free email letter operated by Thomas Paule, Melbourne, Australia. Contact: nextwave@foundersroad.com.
What it is
Every edition is researched, written and checked by AI systems and sent automatically. No person reads, edits or approves an edition before it goes out. Thomas Paule built the system. He does not write, select or approve what appears in it.

- Predictions and probabilities are the system’s own estimates. They are often wrong. They are published so that they can be checked later, not so that they can be relied on.
Accuracy and corrections
Because it is written by AI without human review, an edition can contain errors, including about real companies and people. Every idea links to its sources. If something is wrong, or you are named and believe a statement about you is inaccurate, reply to any edition or write to nextwave@foundersroad.com. Replies are handled by plain software and passed to Thomas Paule. The AI never reads them, and nothing replies to you automatically, so you will not be drawn into a conversation with a machine. Errors he confirms are corrected in a later edition.
What is collected
- Your email address.
- The date you asked to join, the date you confirmed, and the date you left, if you do.
- If you reply to the letter, your message, which is passed to Thomas Paule and to nobody else.
Your internet address is used for a moment when you sign up, only to stop one person submitting the form many times. It is not stored. The emails contain no tracking pixels and no tracked links, so nobody knows whether you opened an edition or what you clicked.
Why, and who sees it
Your address is used to send you the letter and for nothing else. It is never sold, rented or shared for marketing. Each reader is emailed individually, so no reader sees another’s address.
Where it is kept
- On a server in Sydney rented from DigitalOcean, which runs the system.
- In a private backup on GitHub, which stores data in the United States.
- Emails are sent through Google Workspace.
- This website is hosted by Vercel and uses Vercel’s cookie-free analytics, which count page views without identifying you.
Leaving, access and deletion
Every edition has an unsubscribe link, and replying with the word unsubscribe also works. Both take effect straight away. After you leave, your address is kept on a do-not-send list so that you are not emailed again by mistake. To see what is held about you, or to have your address deleted entirely, write to nextwave@foundersroad.com.

Write to the address above first. If you are in Australia and are not satisfied with the response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
